WCN promotes nursing as a desirable career for people from all segments of our society:
- WCN has developed and widely distributed informational "Be a Nurse" brochures which are available in English, Spanish and Russian, and in a Native American version.

- WCN attends high school career fairs and other events to tell students about nursing careers.
- The Executive Director meets with local Workforce Development Councils, Nursing School Advisory Councils, nursing faculty, and nursing management teams in clinical agencies to discuss nursing issues in their respective organizations, to seek input for WCN's strategic direction, and to report on WCN's progress towards goals.
- The staff and Board members also attend other nursing, healthcare and general public meetings and events to promote nursing careers and nursing in Washington State, to discuss nursing issues, the impact of the nursing shortage on our communities, and plans for the future.
